En el siglo XIX las clases ricas, especialmente los ingleses, franceses y alemanes empezaron a realizar viajes turísticos de larga duración. El destino principal de estos viajes era Italia y, también, Oriente Medio.
Como consecuencia de ello los fotógrafos empiezan a hacer fotos de los monumentos de cada región para que los turistas llevasen como recuerdo estas fotos.
Estos estudios estaban situados principalmente en Florencia y Roma.
Las albúminas de Italia son , relativamente, frecuentes en el mercado español.
En esta sección se muestran fotos de algunos de estos famosos estudios fotográficos. Como anécdota comentar que las vistas que recogen estas fotos fueron realizadas por varios fotógrafos de la misma manera, es decir, desde el mismo lugar, mismo encuadre fotográfico.
La fotos, albúminas tienen, casi todas, una gran calidad pues fueron realizadas en la primera época de estos estudios
La foto mas importante es la de Alinari, la Certossa del Galluzzo pues data de 1850. El estudio fotográfico de los hermanos Alinari fue obra de los hermanos de este nombre y, posteriormente colaboraron numerosos fotógrafos que recorrieron toda Italia. Su actividad continuó hasta bien entrado el siglo XX. Hoy día su archivo es la base del Museo Alinari, posiblemente el que guarde mas fotografías de Italia y sus monumentos.
Otras fotos son obra de Giacomo Brogi, de su primera época, cuando su firma estaba impresa en relieve. Posteriormente su nombre solo aparece en la parte inferior de la fotografía al lado del nombre del monumento. Sus fotos se encuentran en numerosos museos de todo el mundo
Giorgio Sommer fotógrafo alemán pero que desarrollo gran parte de su labor en Italia también esta presente con varias fotos albúminas de Pompeya. Como en el caso anterior son fotos de la primera época pues el nombre del fotógrafo figura impreso en la foto. Museos con fotos de Sommer
Van Lint es un fotógrafo cuya labor se centro en Pisa y alrededores, en esta albúmina vemos precisamente la Torre inclinada de Pisa.

In the nineteenth century the wealthy classes, especially the English, French and Germans began to make long-term tours. The main destination of these trips was Italy and also the Middle East.
